“I wish I had this book when I started my career!”
We finished Bill Pearl’s seminal resource Keys to the Inner Universe with our Collective Group. The response was pretty remarkable.
I read this book, I guess 15 years ago. I remember thinking it was extremely comprehensive. It has over 400 pages of exercises and descriptions, and no muscle group is covered. To be honest this book is the original Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding. In a lot of ways, it is more comprehensive.
One profound thing from the book was the detail in describing how you should approach training mentally. Treating the weight room, the other people working out, and your program with the utmost respect. Hygiene and personal appearance are underrated aspects of physical development. Personal appearance is a large part of the goal of why we exercise and Pearl presented a very compelling argument it should not be limited to just completing your workout.
One aspect I was fired up about with the Collective group was a fire ignited with training. Littterally everyone in the book either attempted the workouts themselves (some broke the 3-hour mark) or some of the exercises listed. We had profound discussions in our private chat room and on our calls about how amazing this resource was based on that alone.
This is a massive book: over 600 pages. It is a doorstopper if you need one. There are no stones unturned and so many rabbit holes to dive into. The best way I can describe it is it is a way more enjoyable-to-read version of Supertraining.
If you want to learn more about joining the Collective Group head over to the signup page. You get a book each month, access to a private chat group, and weekly calls. The discussions, the network, and the camaraderie make this the most unique experience in all of S&C.
