Coaching Overview – How do we influence Psychology?

Learn to use models to become the best coach possible
When we look at the leaders in our industry they have similar characteristics. Maybe it is innate and whatever we become is predetermined. However, the person who wants to be a great coach probably does not truly believe this is predetermined. The person who wants to be a great coach believes that we can develop ourselves to become whatever it is we want to become.

This portion of our Foundations Course is going to focus on the ‘Models’. It is not a checklist or a  to-do list to become great. It is a collection of skills and characteristics that collectively make a great coach. Possibly you are good in a particular area and you want to bypass a certain module. Possibly you want to learn more about an area and you want to dive into that section. That is up to you to determine. You will see resources and books that will help you elaborate on a subject and do a deeper dive. Again finding more information on a subject is up to you and the pace and the direction you feel comfortable with.

If we can pull anything from this section is to learn to become a more critical thinker. Take nothing at face value: even what we are saying. Go through due process, because everything that is not considered a law or principle is a shared belief or theory and is subject to scrutiny. There is no substitute for hard work, becoming a great coach will necessitate hard work. Find areas you can improve upon and put forth the work.

Focus on A Principles, B Practical, and C Case Study.  Feel free to dive into those interviews, in the last module, when you have time. Complete all modules before taking the quiz at the end. The quiz is based on A, B, and C. If you spend time with the those sections of the Modules you will be in a good place with the quiz. After the quiz we will have our in Person 1 Day Workshop. You will get an assortment of handouts and information that will extend beyond the modules, but the Foundation is understanding Models and how they apply to Strength and Conditioning.
